Substitute Clerk (Bookmobile, Mail-A-Book, ILL): Job Description

Must have two years of college or reasonable library experience, computer literacy, people skills, and strength to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. Will be trained to substitute as a Clerk in Bookmobile, Mail-a-Book and Interlibrary Loan. 2017 pay rate is $16.89-17.80/hr. The City of Duluth
Duluth, Minnesota is a city for all ages with a growing community of young professionals. Duluth is northern Minnesota’s largest city and home to two colleges and a university. The Duluth Public Library
The Duluth Public Library is a bustling, well-loved cornerstone of the community. The main library, with its ore boat architectural design, is located in the center of the city. The West Duluth branch is located in a city center with a senior center and fire and police stations. The Mount Royal branch is located near the University of Minnesota, Duluth and has recently been renovated to add programming space. Each location has a unique feel, but all place a strong emphasis on customer service.

Branch Librarian II Position

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Librarian with a Masters degree in Library Science and 2 or more years professional experience in a public library setting
  • Skilled communicator and collaborator
  • Experienced project manager
  • Enthusiastic program and event planner
  • Experienced provider of customer service

The ability to communicate well with different groups of people is essential for this position. The branch coordinator will be the liaison between the main library and the branches. Working with supervisory staff, the branch coordinator must be able to clearly convey goals and expectations to branch staff, while listening to their needs and suggestions. The branch coordinator must be able to work well with the public and have a strong background in quality customer service. The coordinator will also be someone who is comfortable assisting the public with technology and working with IT staff to troubleshoot problems. Job Link
