There’s Still Time to promote Library Card Sign Up Month!

September is Library Card Sign Up Month, sponsored by DC’s Wonder Woman, the Arrowhead Library System and the American Library Association.  Library staff can promote this on your websites, Facebook pages, blogs and more by using this article, graphics and links.  You can also replace text or graphics with your own ideas, logos and photos to personalize it even more.

Take the first step to academic achievement & lifelong learning.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Arrowhead Library System (ALS) joins DC’s Wonder Woman and the American Library Association (ALA) to remind students, parents, and caregivers that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.

You can apply for a library card online! If you live in the Arrowhead Library System’s seven county area of Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Lake of the Woods, and St Louis, just visit the ALS website, alslib.info, click on Services, and choose How Do I Get A Library Card? or click on the card below:

With your ALS library card you are able to access a wealth of free digital resources available 24/7 online. At alslib.info, you will find an abundance of e-books, digital audiobooks, digital magazines, learning tools, homework help, exam prep, computer training, job search assistance, professional development, useful links and more.

Your local ALS libraries are ready to assist patrons, even in a pandemic. You can check out books, DVDs, audiobooks and more at any of the 27 member public libraries in the region!  For homebound patrons, Mail-A-Book services are available and the ALS Bookmobile visits over 40 locations throughout the Northland.

To find out what’s happening at your local ALS Public Library, click for a summary of open status, curbside pickup options and links to each library’s online site.

This year, DC’s Wonder Woman is embarking on a mission to champion the power of a library card as Library Card Sign-up Month Honorary Chair. In her new role, Wonder Woman will promote the value of libraries and encourage everyone to get their very own library card.
