Ryan Lindsay, Northeast Range School
It was great to meet with fellow library staff, both school and public. Connecting with the makerspace in a box options was great. We already used the magnet set at our site with positive results which should lead to increased use next year of available options. A big eye opener for me was different understandings of a makerspace. Ideas ranged from a craft kit to connect students with literature or a community resource center, to a mini fabrication lab with programs and equipment. I suppose community needs direct what this space will develop into. As free information becomes more and more available electronically, I wonder if a function of the library will grow to give access to tools and training.
