The Arrowhead Library System and COMPAS are pleased to present
Siama’s Congo Roots
A free program being offered for all ages at the following locations:
Brimming with catchy songs and engaging stories that bring renowned COMPAS Teaching Musician Siama (see-AH-maw) Matuzungidi’s rural Congolese culture to life, this charming show features Siama’s spirited singing, masterful acoustic guitar, and captivating traditional African instruments like Mbira and Balafon. Dallas Johnson will encourage everyone to sing happy songs in Kikongo, Lingala and English, the kids will play fun shakers, and the program will all culminate with a dance party! This hour-long program will be especially fun for kids, but enjoyed by all ages.
This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF) and by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the ACHF.
