The Arrowhead Library System is pleased to offer free event tickets for two productions in February!
On February 17th at 7:30 p.m. the Arrowhead Concert Association presents the Suchon Wind Quintet with Michiko Otaki at the Goodman Auditorium in Virginia.
Formed in the 1960s, this wind quintet continues to consist of the leading wind players of the Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, one of the best-known professional orchestras in Eastern Europe. In 1998, the quintet became known as the Suchon Qunitet in honor of Slovakia’s most important twentieth century composers, Eugen Suchoň (1908–1993), the founder of Slovak National Modernism. The wind quintet has performed many concerts throughout Slovakia, as well as abroad, has given concerts for children and young people, at gallery exhibitions, and has been heard throughout the world on radio recordings.
The Arrowhead Library System sponsors this program by providing free concert tickets, with funding in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. Tickets for this event are available at the following public libraries: Aurora, Babbitt, Buhl, Chisholm, Cook, Ely, Eveleth, Gilbert, Hibbing, Hoyt Lakes, Mountain Iron, Virginia, the Book Mobile and Mail-A-Book.
