Haiku Writing Workshops to tour local ALS libraries October 9-30, 2026

The Arrowhead Library System is pleased to present free writing workshops at participating ALS libraries from October 9-30, 2026. These workshops, presented by author Sandra Hisakuni, are titled: The Northland Beckons: Writing in Haiku.

Grow your creativity and writing skills in this fun haiku workshop. Writers will learn the structure and form of haiku, its origins in Japanese literature, and how Sandra Hisakuni connects this writing practice to Minnesota’s Northwoods. Workshop attendees will explore this powerful tool for mindfulness, joyful reflection, and playful expression. Writers will use words and art to create their own haiku masterpiece to take home.
