Create a MN Woodcut with an iconic lake scene. Learn about cold press ground and enjoy painting your own unique design in watercolor paint.
The woodcut is prepared with a medium called cold press ground to create a perfect surface for watercolor paint. The painting is then finished with a wax medium to protect the surface. The 7” woodcut can be hung on a wall or propped on a small decorative easel. Each participant will leave with a completed painting.
As part of the workshop Sarah teaches basic color theory and color mixing practices to introduce students to the concept of using three primary colors to create a multitude of color combinations. This activity is appropriate for patrons of ages 10 and above.
Levar has experience demonstrating watercolor techniques to Ely High School students. Levar has also taught a class at the Vermilion Country School in Tower. She taught MN Woodcut to the Ely Rotary Club members.
Join us for an exciting watercolor and woodcut lesson. Levar lives and works in Ely.
