Code.Org Workshop at ALS

Please join us for the Code.Org Computer Science Fundamentals workshop on Tuesday, July 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Arrowhead Library System Headquarters in Mountain Iron (5528 Emerald Avenue).  This continuing education opportunity is open to all member public, school, academic, and special library staff who work with youth in Kindergarten-Grade 5 and who are interested in teaching computer science .  There is no registration fee, but please bring $5 for a pizza lunch and a charged laptop or iPad to participate.
Code.Org Instructor Angie Kalthoff will be presenting an introduction to computer science, an overview of online curriculum that allows even the youngest students to explore the limitless world of computing, and strategies for teaching “unplugged” classroom activities.  All attendees will receive a printed curriculum guide and a certificate of completion.
